1 day excursion, we offer you the possibility to discover the coastal desert and the valley of Majes. Visiting its main places of interest, in particular the petroglyphs of Toro Muerto and the footprints of Dinosaur Querullpa.
This tour is particularly interesting for people who have not had the opportunity to see the Peruvian coastal desert and much of the pre-Inca culture that passed through Arequipa.
6:30 and 7:00 am we pick you up from the most central lodgings in the city of Arequipa in case your accommodation is very distant the meeting point would be the Plaza de Armas. We will cross the coastal desert and its amazing landscapes: rocky hills, dunes, green valleys and artificial irrigation. Finally, the plateau opens up and we discover the beautiful Majes Valley, wide, deep and green. Visit to the site of “Toro Muerto” and its thousands of mysterious pre-Hispanic petroglyphs. Transfer to the “Picardo” inn for lunch (not included, at the traveler’s expense). In the afternoon, we visit the fossilized dinosaur footprints in Querullpa. Before leaving the valley, we will visit a winery where pisco, the Peruvian national liquor, is distilled. We will see the processes of its manufacture. 4:30 pm – We will be back in Arequipa.

Recommendations
- Use sunscreen and mosquito repellent.
- Carry a small backpack with personal items, water bottle, some snacks of your preference.
- Precautionary warm clothing for the return.
- Comfortable shoes for walking around the places visited.
- The sun falls intensely in summer (November - March), it is recommended to wear light clothing and apply plenty of sunscreen, sunglasses and a hat.
