CITY TOUR: SACSAYHUAMAN & NEARBY RUINS.
In the afternoon at around 13:15 hrs, we have the city tour; we are going to visit the Imperial City, living example of the mixture of the Andean and Spanish cultures. We start our trip visiting the cathedral, the Korikancha temple, actually Santo Domingo Convent a place that housed inside one of the most important religious centers of the Inca period, and ancient Inca palace and main worship center of the Sun God. Going on with the tour, the tour moved to the outskirts of the city to the magnificent Sacsayhuaman (Puma´s head), which domains the city, built strategically on a hill overlooking Cusco; famous for its enormous carved stones joined with astounding precision to form the outer walls. Some of these stones stand over 9m/3oft.tall, and weight over 128 tons; just 200 meters from Sacsayhuaman is our next destination Qenqo (ceremonial site) religious center dedicated to the worship earth and funerary rituals. Puca Pucara (the red fortress) that was used as a center for military use and control, as well as a place to stop for the travelers from the Inca period. Our ultimate destination located just 100 meters from Puca Pucara. Tambomachay (temple of water) was use as a center of worship of water. When we finish the tour, we are going to come back to Cusco. We end the tour in the main square.
SACRED VALLEY OF THE INCAS – PISAC MARKET & OLLANTAYTAMBO / TRAIN TO MACHUPICCHU.
Pick you up from the hotel and we will drive towards the Sacred Valley of the Incas, taking the direct route to Pisac. We will stop on the way to have a classic view of the Urubamba valley, with crops dressing the mountains like carpets. Then, we will arrive to the Pisac town, we will continue going to the Pisac ruins where we will have a guided tour; after the tour, we´ll down to the Pisac market, we will arrive to the colorful market, where we will have free time to interact with the local craftsmen, or to purchase their hand-made souvenirs. Going on with the tour, stop for lunch in Urubamba. Finally, we will visit fortress of Ollantaytambo, attractive town of Inca origin with remarkable channels and stone streets. In its high part one rises to an impressive ceremonial center of cult to the water and a fortress that guarded the access to the inferior part of the valley. When we finish the tour, we are going to the train station to take the train to Aguas Calientes Machu Picchu (2 hours from Ollantaytambo by train). You will visit one of the most important energetic centers of the world: Machupicchu. The excursion will be by train and during the trip; we will have an amazing view of the landscapes of the Sacred Valley of the Incas. Upon arrival to Aguas Calientes, our representatives will assist you and transf er you to your selected hotel. Overnight in Aguas Calientes.
TOUR TO MACHUPICCHU “THE LOST CITY OF THE INCAS & RETURN TO CUSCO.
Early in the morning, our representatives will pick you up from the hotel to board the bus, which will take you at the Machu Picchu citadel. It will be an unforgettable experience, where a professional tour guide will transmit us the history around this mysterious and charming place, After the guided tour, you will have free time to explore the zone on your own. When we finish the tour, we are going to take a bus for down to Aguas Calientes. Buffet lunch in one of the restaurants there are at Aguas Calientes town. At the scheduled time, we are going to the train station to take the train to come back to Cusco. At your arrival to Cusco, we will meet and transfer you to your selected hotel.
PLATFORMS OF MORAY AND SALT MINES TOUR
Between 08:30 am – 09:00 am we will pick you up from your respective accommodation, our excursion starts by heading to the town of Chinchero to visit a Quechua house and learn about the textile art, we will continue to the archaeological center of Moray north of the city of Maras. Moray is a unique construction of several circular platforms that served as an agricultural laboratory to experiment with different products in Inca times. Continuing with the excursion we will arrive at the Salineras de Maras, impressive salt platforms formed by thousands of white wells that appear like snow. These have been used for thousands of years, long before the Inca empire and are still in use today by the local inhabitants. The tour ends at approximately 14:30 pm, at which time we will be arriving in the city of Cusco.
