CUSCO means ‘’navel of the World’’ in the Inca language – Quechua, has a mostly indigenous population of around 500,000 and is centered around the Plaza de Armas, which is dominated by the Cathedral and La Compañia de Jesus Church. Its cloistered arcades house many fine restaurants, bars and shops. Make the most of your free days in Cusco to explore its amazing churches, colonial buildings and picturesque streets, many of which have Inca walls, arches and doorways. On a hill overlooking the city stands the archaeological park of Sacsayhuaman, where some of the most spectacular Inca walls can be found, including a massive 128 ton stone. There are also many optional excursions and activities available such as white water rafting, horse riding, and mountain biking and canoeing on offer.

It is these contrasts that have given Cusco its rare beauty. Most visitors are keen to get to Machu Picchu; Cusco itself has a lot to offer the visitor and most travellers usually end up seduced with this vibrant city and stay longer than first planned.
Cusco is located at an altitude of 3,360m above sea level; Cusco was referred to as the “Navel of the World”.
When arriving in Cusco from the coast you will immediately notice the thin clear mountain air, a result of the City’s high altitude. The first day in particular should be spent quietly relaxing and taking things easy as you gently acclimatize.
This is an ideal opportunity to see the highlights Cusco has to offer such as a tour of the City, the nearby Inca Ruins of Sacsayhuaman, Qenqo, Puca Pucara and Tambomachay and, of course, a day trip out to the Sacred Valley of the Incas including a visit to the traditional Indian market at Pisac, the beautiful village of Ollantaytambo.

Upon arrival to Cusco, reception by our transfer and transportation to your hotel (Coca tea courtesy). The rest of the morning is free to rest and get acclimatize to the altitude. In the afternoon (13:40 hrs), we are going to visit the Imperial City, living example of the mixture of the Andean and Spanish cultures. We start our trip visiting the cathedral, the Qoriqancha temple, actually Santo Domingo Convent a place that housed inside one of the most important religious centers of the Inca period, and ancient Inca palace and main worship center of the Sun God. Going on with the tour, the tour moved to the outskirts of the city to the magnificent Sacsayhuaman (Puma´s head), which domains the city, built strategically on a hill overlooking Cusco; famous for its enormous carved stones joined with astounding precision to form the outer walls. Some of these stones stand over 9m/3oft.tall, and weight over 128 tons; just 200 meters from Sacsayhuaman is our next destination Qenqo (ceremonial site) religious center dedicated to the worship earth and funerary rituals. Puca Pucara (the red fortress) that was use as a center for military use and control, as well as a place to stop for the travelers from the Inca period. Our ultimate destination located just 100 meters from Puca Pucara. Tambomachay (temple of water) was use as a center of worship of water. When we finish the tour, we are going back to Cusco.
At your arrival to Cusco, you will be met by our representative and transferred to selected hotel to spend the night.
Join this full day Adventure to unearth the mysteries of majestic Machu Picchu. Pick Early in the morning, up at centrally located hotels in Cusco and we will drive towards at the Poroy train station (20 minutes from Cusco city by car) or Ollantaytambo train station (1 hour and 30 minutes from Cusco city by car) to take the train Expedition service at the town of Aguas Machu Picchu (4 hours from Poroy to Aguas Calientes town and 2 hours from Ollantaytambo to Aguas Calientes town by train). The excursion will be by train and during the trip; we will have an amazing view of the landscapes of the Sacred Valley of the Incas. Upon arrival to Aguas Calientes, our representatives will assist you to transfer to a bus for a brief journey to the much-visited archaeological site of Machu Picchu (25 minutes up and 25 minutes down), which will take you at the Machu Picchu citadel. It will be an unforgettable experience, where a professional tour guide will transmit you the history around this mysterious and charming place. After the guided tour, you will have free time to explore the citadel at your own pace. Don’t forget to capture the beauty of this World Heritage Site, as there are loads of photo-worthy moments waiting around every corner. After, we are going to take a bus for down to Aguas Calientes. Buffet lunch in one of the restaurants there are at Aguas Calientes town. By 4 pm it’s time to make the return journey back to the city of Cusco. Hop on the train and ride back to the city, away from the magnetic heritage of mighty Machu Picchu a mesmerizing place that will leave an imprint on your soul. At your arrival to Cusco, you will be met by our representative and transferred to selected hotel to spend the night.

For the Best of Cusco and Machu Picchu tour, you´ll need a change of clothes, mineral water one liter, rain gear or poncho (plastic poncho cam be purchase in Cusco), warm jacket or fleece and wind coot, t-shirts, shorts and long pants, sun hat and wool hat, flashlight and extra batteries, sun block and insect repellent, toilet paper and garbage bag, small towel, camera, extra film and extra batteries for your camera, snacks, chocolates, energy bars, personal things.
For the Best of Cusco and Machu Picchu tour, we require a Prepayment (50%) of the total. The deposit can be sent by a WESTERN UNION or to our BANK ACCOUNT money transfer. This is the fastest and most secure form of payment in Peru. Once you arrive in Cusco you must pay the remaining balance in cash prior to beginning your tour. We accept both US Dollars and Peruvian Soles (local currency).
